Dit zijn de genomineerden voor de Oscars

‘The Shape of Water’ van Guillermo del Toro maakt kans op een Oscarbeeldje in kleine categorieën als beste kostuums en geluidmontage. Maar daarnaast pronkt de prent ook in categorieën als beste film, beste regisseur en beste actrice (Sally Hawkins).

Met dertien nominaties komt ‘The Shape of Water’ net tekort voor een record: ‘La La Land’, ‘Titanic’ en ‘All About Eve’ werden eerder al veertien keer genomineerd. Andere grote slokoppen van deze editie zijn ‘Lady Bird’, ‘Darkest Hour’, ‘Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri’ en ‘Dunkirk’.

Belgisch kantje

In de categorie beste niet-Engelstalige film maakt de Russische film ‘Loveless’ kans op een felbegeerd beeldje. Aan die prent zit een Belgisch kantje, want het is mee geproduceerd door Les Films Du Fleuve van de broers Dardenne.

De 90ste Oscars worden op 4 maart uitgereikt in Hollywood, en live uitgezonden op ABC. Net als vorig jaar neemt talkshowhost en comedian Jimmy Kimmel de presentatie voor zijn rekening.
