. . Luckily though, they’ve had my blood cultures back and I have pneumococcal bacterial infection. And I say luckily as the alternative was far more scary! As its mainly in my lung they’re classing it at pneumonia but it’s the same bacteria responsible for sepsis and meningitis. . . I’m on 3 different strong doses of antibiotic to treat all 3 along with an IV steroid. I’ve just seen the consultant who said I’ll be here for a good few days at least as they want me 100% fit before they discharge me. . . My oxygen levels are improving, I’ve gone from needing 90% to 75% over the last few hours and my stats are holding stable at 94%. . . So I’m resting up and concentrating on getting better. Once I shift this infection once and for all I can concentrate on fighting the cancer! . . . . . #blessed #loveofagoodman #positivevibes #positivemind #positivebodyimage #cancerwontwin #justamammafightingcancer #cancercanfuckoff #cancerwarrior #cancersucks #cancerblogger #blogger #alkpositivelungcancer #alk #lungcancer #support #blogger #cancerblogger #justamammafightingcancer #alkpositivelungcancer #alkpostive #sideeffects #cancersucks #fuckoffcancer #raisingawareness #lungcancer #cancerwarrior #1in2 #cancer #bloggingcancermamma #macmillan #mammablogger #mummyblog #roycastlelungcancerfoundation
. . Not two things that should ever go together but the harsh reality for alot of us. When I was diagnosed, I asked how long I’d likely had the tumours, I was told about a year. Freya was just 6 months old when I was diagnosed and I’d had the worst pregnancy so knowing I’d had it while pregnant explained alot of things. . . But being a first time mamma, all the aches pains and occasional bladder lapses were new to me and looking back, it’s hard to know which were cancer and which were just the joys of motherhood. Although I’m pretty sure pissing yourself and then crying about the fact you’ve pissed yourself can’t be put down to cancer buy hey, I can’t categorically confirm either way so
. . Then comes the tiredness. I mean, all new mums are tired right. But add cancer tired to that and you’ve got something that resembled a sloth stuck in tar. Even down to the odd half smile and heavy eyes as we’re dosed to fuck on opiates for the most part. It’s fucking shit! . . My lowest ebb was not even being able to change Freyas nappy. Something I actively try and avoid these days, now they’re proper poos, but at the time I felt like such a failure. If I’m honest, those feelings do creep up still from time to time. . . But I beat them back with my big shiny positivity stick, I’m bloody remarkable!! Cancer had invaded my body, taken up shop in 3 different areas and yet I still managed to grow a perfectly healthy beautiful baby, Go Fucking Me
. . Its Cancer in Pregnancy awareness week and I urge all expectant mothers to speak to your GPs if you have any concerns at all. I knew I wasn’t well, deep down knew it was more than just pregancy related but I let myself be fobbed off. Told myself not to cause a fuss. Bollocks to that, now I’d chain myself to the reception desk and make a right holy show
trust your instincts, it could save your life
